BOOK INFO IS UP OH JEEEZ

Check it out, guys!

Hey guys, if you couldn’t guess by the incentive image, I’m DANGEROUSLY CLOSE to having a book! Last week the files were sent off to the printer, so I should be seeing books by the end of the month! I am going to be putting up a PRE-ORDER page by the end of the week for any interested parties. I’ll have more details up with that shortly.

As for details about the book itself, it’s gonna be 172 pages–it contains the first 4 chapters, as well as a bunch of bonus stuff, including a guide to Canopy Woods wildlife and some profiles since those are always fun. It’s also going to have a few extra pages added to chapter 2, because there were a few things I did not like about that chapter. Those pages will eventually be up on the site, but Comicspress is a ridiculous pain in the butt and does not allow me to move around entries at will, so I’m going to need to deconstruct my whole archive to get them in. I REALLY need to learn web design and coding.;;;

Anyways, that’s about it for now! I hope all two of you other there are EXCITED!

Okay so I need to talk to you guys about a few things, since I’m sure all two of you are wondering about all the tardiness I’ve been having lately. Well here’s the dilly-o:

1) On July the 13th I am leaving for Hong Kong and will not be back until the 23rd. I’m going to be working a trade show in Hong Kong for my dad, so I’ve been busy getting stuff together at work before we leave and it has been battering the heck out of me. Unlike my vacation last year, I won’t be putting up any new pages for you guys, HOWEVER I will be running filler comics/pictures between July 14th and July 23rd while I am gone. I probably WILL have a strip up for the 13th since I’m on track, and as for the filler schedule, I’m not sure if it’ll stick strictly to Tuesday and Friday updates, it depends on how many of my friends get back to me with stuff. I’ll keep you guys updated before I leave!

And this leads to my second reason for being so late with stuff:

2) I’ve been doing some extra pages for a new sequence I plan to inset into chapter 2, and going through and proofreading the heck out of some of my pages. The reason? I am thinking about doing a small print run of books. I know I don’t have a huge fanbase or anything–which is why it would be a small run–but I figured I’d see if any of you guys out there would actually be interested in this. It would be the first four chapters of the comic, along with a bunch of extra stuff included–it’d probably be about 150 pages. The plan would be to get them done in time for SPX in September as I will be exhibiting there, but if something happens (god forbid) I would shoot for sometime in October then. If you are interested, please leave a comment or something! I really appreciate you guys, and thanks for all the support you’ve given me so far!

So yeah, that’s the deal everyone! I’ll keep you all updated and try to post little bits of what I’m working on here and there! In the meantime go read Homestuck if you don’t already.

Okay, so it’s like this, guys: I was away for the weekend, and came home to find three of our household computers infected with some kind of stupid DNS changing trojan, which I can’t seem to track to its roots, so it keeps coming back. As a result, I do not have access to my scanner, so I can’t get any new pages uploaded. I am hopefully gonna get ahold of our computer guy tomorrow and get everything ironed out, but in the meantime I am holding off until Tuesday, June 22nd to start up Chapter 5. Sorry for the delay guys, I seem to be really unlucky with viruses lately!

MoCCA was absolutely awesome this year! Me and my friends Ashley and Hanni rocked the heck out of things, and we had some great neighbors with my friends and fellow webcomic artists Eric, and Kasey, and her tablemate HamletMachine, who is probably one of the nicest people I’ve ever met (her comic is not for the young ones though, so click responsibly!). Thanks to everyone who stopped by the table this weekend, I appreciate your support!

It was great to see a bunch of old friends, meet some new faces, and make an awkward mess out of myself in front of artists I like, and I can’t wait ’til next year to do it all over again! But until then, SPX is coming up in September, and if all goes well I will have plans for it that will rock your socks off! EXCITING TIMES AAAAAA

I just got back from Maryland this weekend, and the Small Press Expo is a pretty great show! Met a lot of nice people, handed out some new minis, and I picked up Lifemeter 3, which I mentioned before as containing a submission of mine and one of my friends. It’s a REALLY nice book full of some great stuff, so pick it up as soon as it becomes available here! Other than that, I got to sit in on the Ignatz Awards, which are not only awesome because the awards are bricks and the presentation is great, but also because afterwards there was a CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN and i dipped a Beef Wellington in it and oh man it was so good even though that sounds gross. Needless to say I will definitely attend again next year, barring any unforeseen mishaps with polar bears and farming equipment.

Friday’s comic will be up late tonight or early Saturday afternoon, i’ve been in Jersey for the past few days and was unable to get anything done.

That was my last time traveling for a while though, so we WILL be back to a normal schedule next week. Sorry for all the delays guys, but things will be back on track, so thanks for sticking with me in the meantime.

Sorry guys, I forgot to mention that I’d be in New York City for half of the week. I wanted to have an update ready for the weekend but it doesn’t look like that’s gonna happen, so we’ll be back on Tuesday, folks!

Well I’m back from MoCCA now, and it was lots of fun, albeit a little too on the warm side due to the Armory’s lack of air conditioning. But a little heat couldn’t dampen the festivities as far as I’m concerned! Thanks to everyone who stopped by our table, it was nice meeting you all! And if there are any newcomers here fresh from the MoCCA festival, then welcome! Hopefully you’ll enjoy reading my story as much as I enjoy drawing it.

I forgot to mention that as of last friday I officially graduated with a BFA in Cartooning from the School of Visual Arts. I guess that means I can officially start being a professional at some point! I feel like Link in the Legend of Zelda, starting off with nothing more than a crappy shield to my name, only this shield is named COMICS.

That was meant to be deep but it failed on so many levels.

I’d also like to mention that during the first weekend of June I’ll be at the MoCCA Art Festival, sharing a table with a few of my fellow graduates, including these two fine people! If you’re in the area, drop by and say hi! But please refrain from throwing things.
